- Develop and enforce IT and cyber security policies, procedures, and standards aligned with best practices.
- Proactively monitor and address cyber security threats, applying patches, managing antivirus solutions, and ensuring secure access controls.
- Conduct risk assessments to identify vulnerabilities and recommend actionable improvements.
- Collaborate with external IT vendors and service providers to maintain service quality and system security.
- Maintain and optimize IT infrastructure, including servers, networks, cloud platforms like Microsoft 365, and endpoint devices.
- Support IT integration for newly acquired business units, ensuring seamless onboarding.
- Advise on IT procurement, asset management, and software licensing to align with organizational needs.
- Foster a culture of awareness by educating team members on cyber security best practices.
- Provide responsive support for end users, resolving hardware, software, and connectivity issues.
- A minimum of 5 years of progressive IT experience, with a focus on implementing and managing cyber security controls.
- Strong knowledge of security frameworks such as CIS Controls or ISO 27001, and their application in business environments.
- Hands-on expertise in endpoint protection, firewalls, intrusion detection/prevention systems, and multi-factor authentication.
- Proven ability to conduct risk assessments, threat modeling, and basic incident response.
- Familiarity with cloud platforms such as Microsoft 365, Azure, or Google Workspace, including data loss prevention.
- Experience working with Managed Security Service Providers (MSSPs) to deliver monitoring and threat detection capabilities.
- Demonstrated success in maintaining IT and security policies, including acceptable use, access control, and incident response.
- Understanding of Canadian data protection and privacy regulations.
