Southland International is searching for a Parts Technician or Apprentice available for full-time work, with the position open to start immediately. Must be available to work Monday to Friday with rotational Saturdays and overtime as required.Who We AreSouthland International is a truck and trailer dealership in Lethbridge, Alberta. Since our establishment in 1985, we have remained locally owned and operated throughout the entire duration. We specialize in new and used International trucks, as well as Doepker and Renn trailers. Over the years, our product and service offerings have evolved to include a 170+ unit rental fleet under the Idealease network, and e-commerce part sales that stretch all over the world.What We Are Searching ForThe proper candidate will have a strong foundational understanding of the technical aspects of the role, along with a significant background in practical application. Characteristics of the successful candidate include willingness and commitment to learning within the position, strong verbal and written communication skills, and the ability to cooperate and contribute within a team environment.Essential DutiesSelling parts to front counter customers.Selling parts to the back counter.Opening and closing parts department.Closing credit card machine.Answering and transferring phone calls.Participate in continuous vendor training. Restocking parts returned by customers.Ensure adequate parts are being sold and/or ordered per customer requirements.Training and nurturing all parts apprentices.Assisting with shipping and receiving when required.Assisting with cyclical inventory counts.Assisting with stock replenishment as required.Communicate with the accounts receivable department on customer issues including over-limit, delinquency, and account payments.Inter-department communication involving supplies, pricing issues, and purchase orders.General housekeeping duties.RequirementsHold a valid class 5 Alberta driver's license, with a clean driver's abstract.Experience with forklift operation.Must meet all safety requirements and applicable safety policies.Experience/EducationLicensed Journeyman in Parts.Or a registered Alberta apprentice.Previous work experience is an assetAdditionalHealth/Dental/STD/LTD benefitsCompetitive wagesDeferred profit-sharing planPaid overtimeLearn more about Southland International Trucks Ltd. atWe thank all applicants for their interest, however, only those selected for an interview will be contacted.
