As a national leader in retail, field sales, and experiential marketing, we support high-volume workforces across Canada, and our Payroll & Benefits function plays a critical role in ensuring operational excellence.We are seeking a detail-driven, technology-forward Payroll & Benefits Manager to lead and strengthen our payroll operations in a fast-paced, multi-provincial environment.This role is ideal for a hands-on leader who thrives in complexity, understands compliance deeply, and is excited to modernize and automate payroll processes while supporting a growing national workforce.What You'll DoYou will oversee full-cycle, multi-provincial payroll processing and benefits administration while leading a small team and partnering cross-functionally with Finance, Operations, HR & Account Teams.Key responsibilities include:
- Managing high-volume payroll cycles (Bi-weekly)
- Ensuring compliance with federal and provincial regulations, including WSIB and CNESST
- Overseeing ROEs, CRA remittances, year-end filings (T4s, RL-1s), EHT, and reconciliations
- Acting as the subject matter expert in ADP (Workforce Now, mandatory)
- Leading or supporting payroll system enhancements and automation initiatives
- Managing benefits administration, enrollments, reconciliations, and vendor relationships
- Developing internal controls, SOPs, and payroll governance frameworks
- Coaching and leading payroll team members
- Providing payroll analytics and reporting to Finance and leadership teams
- 7-10+ years of progressive payroll experience, including team leadership
- Proven experience managing high-volume, multi-provincial payroll
- Strong expertise in ADP (implementation experience required)
- Solid knowledge of WSIB, CNESST, CRA remittances, and Canadian payroll legislation
- Experience managing group benefits programs
- Strong process improvement and automation mindset
- Exceptional attention to detail and analytical ability
- PCP or CPM designation preferred
- Bilingual (English/French) is considered an asset
- National exposure supporting major retail and field programs
