We take pride in our employees and place a high-value on establishing a workplace where people are challenged and respected every day.SummaryE Construction, a division of N.P.A. is hiring a Finish Rakerman for the upcoming 2026 construction season!The Rakeman plays an important role in the road building process and is responsible for redistributing Asphalt as it leaves the screed and prepares it for rolling by either rake or shovel.Key Responsibilities

Spread asphalt with a rake using efficient techniques and maintaining a good pace.
Shovel excess asphalt and sweep up debris.
Responsible for the proper match points and limits of asphalt mix adjacent to concrete structures, manholes, water valves and other fixtures within the road surface.
Use asphalt rake to blend and level seams in the mat, reducing visible marks and seams in the asphalt surface.
Measure and string the boundaries of the road surface as a guide for the paver. Verify, estimate and set the angle and depth of the screed as required.
Must ensure a solid understanding of and comply with the principles of the company's Code of Ethics.
Must examine situations in light of the principles of the Code of Ethics.
Other operation related duties as required.

Qualifications | Requirements

High School diploma or G.E.D preferred
Class 5 drivers license required
Minimum 3 - 5 years road construction experience
Minimum 2 - 3 years of experience as an asphalt raker and an understanding of asphalt raking techniques.

Working Conditions

Weather dependent schedule of 24 working days and 4 days off. Overtime is paid in accordance with applicable employment standards legislation.
Ability to work out-of-town and remote locations may be required. Accomodations and Live Out Allowance is applicable in most situations.
Work is performed in an outdoor setting, which could include inclement weather, heat and humidity, and exposure to dust and asphalt.
Must be physically able to repetitively lift and carry at least 50 LBS on a regular basis.
Use of Personal Protection Equipment is required.
Use of sunscreen, long sleeves, and appropriate headgear is recommended.
Must comply with the company's drug and alcohol testing requirements.
