There's a seat at our table for you...Division: British ColumbiaPosition: Facility Maintenance (Level 1)Schedule: 4 X 10 | 6:00 AM to 4:00 PMShifts: Saturday - TuesdayThursday - SundayWage: $30.39/hrPosition OverviewReporting to the Facility Maintenance Supervisor, this position will be responsible for daily general maintenance upkeep such as the building’s mechanical, electrical and plumbing systems to ensure a safe, efficient and comfortable environment for building occupants. Additionally, ensuring the safe and efficient operations of the Gordon Food Service warehouse and office facility. Working collaboratively with the maintenance team in compliance with company standards & specifications and all applicable legislation, regulation codes and standards.Duties and ResponsibilitiesPerform general maintenance duties to upkeep the buildingConduct routine facility inspections of the building and equipment and identify any issues or safety hazards.Assisting and working alongside technicians with repairs and maintenance projects.Ensure tools and equipment are properly maintained, cleaned, and stored.Assist with setting up boardrooms with necessary equipment needed for events or office changesResponse promptly to attend requests from other departments and emergenciesFollow workplace safety procedures, including the proper use of personal protective equipment (PPE).Adhere to company policies for maintaining a safe and secure environment.Other duties as assignedRequired Skills and QualificationsExperience in operating hand and power tools in a safe and efficient mannerComfortable with heights while using equipmentAbility to lift, move and carry heavy objectsAbility to work in all environments (cooler, dry, and freezer) required.Ability to work indoors and outdoors in all weather conditions as requiredAbility to work independently and in a team environmentAbility to collaborate with other departments by building relationships and interacting effectively with all levels.Proficient computer skills and good problem solving skillsExcellent time management and organizational skills with the ability to identify and manage priorities and follow through on tasks from start to finishHigh level of personal integrity, strong work ethic, safety orientated and attention to detailCritical Thinking and decision-making skills with the ability to think strategically, analyze, understand the business and solve problemsBasic understanding of maintenance tasksA strong mechanical aptitude with proven troubleshooting abilitiesA team player with good communication skills including written and verbalA strong background in facility preventative maintenance would be an assetOther professional certificates and schooling would be an assetKnowledge of plumbing, electrical, racking, carpentry, welding and hydraulics is an assetNo formal written discipline.Availability for nights and weekendsWe thank all applicants for their interest, however only those selected for the next stage will be contacted.
