Legal Assistant – Construction Litigation

- Provide administrative and legal support to lawyers in the Construction Litigation group, including drafting, formatting, and proofreading correspondence, pleadings, and court documents.
- Coordinate the preparation and filing of legal documents with courts and tribunals within prescribed deadlines.
- Maintain and organize client files, both electronic and hard copy, ensuring confidentiality and adherence to firm protocols.
- Manage multiple calendars, schedule meetings, coordinate travel arrangements, and handle incoming/outgoing communications.
- Track critical deadlines, limitation periods, and manage timelines for construction matters.
- Conduct basic legal research and assist with document production, disclosure, and trial preparation.
- Liaise professionally with clients, experts, court staff, and third parties as required.
- Process time entries, expenses, and support billing activities as necessary.
- Minimum of 3 years' experience as a legal assistant, preferably in construction litigation.
- Proficiency in case management software and tools such as Aderant and CompuLaw.
- Strong knowledge of legal documentation processes and terminology.
- Familiarity with construction law and litigation practices.
- Excellent organizational and time management skills.
- Advanced proficiency with Adobe Acrobat and ACRIS.
- Ability to handle multiple tasks and priorities in a fast-paced environment.
- Strong communication skills to liaise effectively with clients and team members.
