Remote Flexibility: In OfficeAn established Toronto law firm is seeking a highly skilled Director of Finance & Operations to oversee the firm’s accounting, human resources, IT, and operations. This senior leadership role is pivotal to the firm’s continued success and offers oversight of the administration team, including the Accounting & Operations Manager, legal assistants, title clerks, and support staff.Duties and Responsibilities:Lead and over see all aspects of the firm’s financial operations including annual filings, tax c ompliance, partner allocations, and financial reporting.
- Ensure compliance with Law Society of Ontario.
- Oversee HR functions, including recruitment, performance management, compensation, benefits, health & safety, and employee relations.
- Manage firm policies to ensure compliance with employment laws and professional conduct standards.
- Direct IT and cybersecurity operations, coordinating with third-party providers.
- Oversee firm website management, domain maintenance, and technology upgrades..
- Promote firm culture through engagement initiatives and firm-wide events.
- Strong knowledge of LSO compliance, trust accounting, and financial reporting.
- Proven HR leadership experience, including recruitment, compensation, performance management, and policy development.
- Expertise in IT oversight and cybersecurity best practices, with the ability to manage third-pa rty providers.
- Exceptional organizational, leadership, and communication skills.
- Ability to manage competing priorities in a fast-paced professional environment.
