As the IT Support Specialist, you will play a critical role in the success of Inovata Foods. The main responsibility for this position is supporting all departments corporately (Manufacturing Plant in Edmonton, Alberta and a Sales office in Kelowna, BC) and will be located within the Tillsonburg Plant. This position will work closely with the Director of IT and our Technology Vendors. This role encompasses a wide range of functions related to managing and maintaining our IT infrastructure such as technical support and working on projects.Key Responsibilities:
- Provide technical support to employees via phone, email, and in-person.
- Manage user accounts, permissions, and access controls on servers and network resources.
- Implement and enforce security policies, procedures, and best practices to protect organizational data and systems.
- Install, configure, and maintain software applications across the organization's IT infrastructure.
- Manage software licenses, updates, patches, and upgrades to ensure compliance and security.
- Provide support and troubleshooting for software-related issues reported by end-users.
- Identify hardware needs, research vendors, and procure hardware equipment as needed.
- Install, configure, and maintain hardware components such as servers, desktops, laptops, printers, and peripherals.
- Troubleshoot hardware issues, coordinate repairs, and manage warranty claims with vendors.
- Create and maintain user documentation, guides, and FAQs for IT systems and applications.
- Conduct training sessions or workshops to educate users on IT best practices and procedures.
- Monitor system logs, performance metrics, and security alerts to identify and resolve issues proactively.
- Generate and analyze reports on system utilization, performance trends, and security incidents.
- Communicate findings and recommendations to management and stakeholders as needed.
- Assist with IT projects, including system upgrades, migrations, and deployment.
- Other tasks assigned by IT Director.
- Completion of a Technical Diploma or related post-secondary education.
- 2+ years of technical support experience.
- Knowledge ERPs (preferably Navision), MES, BI tools such as PowerBi, CMMS, QMS, and SCADA systems would be considered an asset.
- Understanding of cybersecurity and data protection principles.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills.
- Salaried position based on experience and education. Salary to be negotiated.
