Job DescriptionWhat is the opportunity?Primarily support RMFI Compliance Advisory team to promote and maintain an effective control framework to implement, embed and monitor RMFI’s adherence to all relevant external laws & regulations, internal codes and policies and good market practices.*Please note: The ideal candidate must be fully fluent in English and French*What will you do?Primarily support RMFI Compliance Advisory team to provide advisory services to the field and business on clear understanding of compliance risk exposure with respect to clients, transactions and products.Support in providing timely advice, review and effective challenge on RMFI processes and controls executed by the field, new business initiatives, business changes, customer communications, training and other activities related to the field.Provide support to the business in delivering comprehensive training to the field on RMFI’s policies and procedures and the understanding of effective controls.Ensure proactive communication with the field and the business to develop appropriate processes for engagement.Promote and maintain an effective control framework to implement, embed and monitor RMFI’s adherence to all relevant external laws & regulations, internal codes and policies and good market practices.Maintain and develop strong, positive and professional partnership with the field, the business, Compliance colleagues and leadership team to drive the implementation of policies and procedures.Provide support in the implementation of effective risk-based monitoring on RMFI policies/procedures and controls.Resolve any/all identified issues promptly and report/escalate concerns to senior compliance management as appropriate to ensure timely awareness of material concerns.Maintain and observe all RBC control standards, including providing support on timely implementation of recommendations made by internal/external auditors and external regulators.Ensure all queries raised to RMFI Compliance Advisory are responded to within reasonable timeframes. For complex queries, provide estimated/expected timeframe for response.Provide necessary reporting to senior compliance management on Compliance Advisory related matters.Provide support in governance and oversight forums, issues management, fostering a compliance culture and optimizing relations with risk owners and control owners, as needed.Share regulatory compliance knowledge and best practice across RBC and the wider Compliance Function. Liaise with relevant stakeholders within RBC to provide expertise and support on all Compliance related matters.Stay at the forefront of key regulatory changes.Support the management of a strong relationship with all relevant regulators in relation to the activities of RMFI and ensure timely disclosure of relevant information in relation to regulatory compliance related matters.What do you need to succeed?
