If this sounds like a culture you would like to work in, you are invited to apply for this role.TRS Staffing Solutions has exciting opportunities for an Instrumentation & Control Systems Designer role to work for one of Canada's top employers and a global leader in the Engineering, Procurement, Construction Management industry.Responsibilities:
- Maintain proactive communication with project leads regarding progress and constraints.
- Generate construction-ready documentation including wiring diagrams, loop drawings, cable schedules, and panel layouts.
- Review vendor documentation and contractor scopes to ensure compliance with project specifications.
- Provide field installation insights and support during construction phases.
- Conduct material take-offs and prepare tabulations for procurement and construction planning.
- Collaborate with engineering and design teams to resolve discrepancies and optimize design solutions.
- Ensure designs align with project standards, safety regulations, and environmental considerations.
- Develop and review 3D models and 2D CAD drawings for electrical and instrumentation systems.
- Perform additional tasks as required.
- Diploma or technical certification in Electrical Engineering or Instrumentation and Controls.
- 10+ years of experience in industrial design within engineering consulting or project delivery environments.
- Familiarity with process facilities such as mining, mineral processing, or chemical plants.
- Proficient in CAD tools (e.g., MicroStation); experience with SmartPlant tools is an asset.
- Strong understanding of industry codes, standards, and multidisciplinary coordination.
- Excellent communication and organizational skills.
- Ability to manage multiple tasks across concurrent projects.
