- Assist in reviewing and preparing external contract terms and conditions with a view to minimize commercial risks
- Support the planning and execution of all third-party contracts, which may include buy and sell side contracts, teaming, cooperation, confidentiality, and services agreements
- Internally coordinate the application of governing terms, including technical Statement of Work, delivery schedule, Industrial and Technological Benefits, quality requirements, and flow down of any customer terms and conditions, as applicable
- Ensure internal cross-functional stakeholders are aware of all obligations to comply with contractual requirements
- Understand third party obligations and identify to internal stakeholders where obligations are not being fulfilled
- Support the business on all matters related to contractual transactions, based on understanding of the scope of work between MDA Space and its customers, subcontractors and/or other third parties
- Assist with due diligence and compliance requirements
- Support customer, subcontractor and project reviews
- Maintain accurate, accessible and complete records of the company’s contractual commitments
- Contribute to contract management best practices and initiatives to improve business performance and customer satisfaction
- A post secondary degree/diploma and/or 3 years related or transferable work experience. Knowledge of business and contracting law is an asset
- Experience assisting with drafting and managing basic contract terms and agreements. Experience within the Space, Aerospace, Defense or other high-technology industry an asset
- Familiarity with some, or all, of the following is an asset: the Government of Canada’s Standard Acquisition Clauses and Conditions (SACC) and Canadian government procurement processes, Industrial and Technological Benefits (ITB), Controlled Goods Program (CGP), International Traffic in (FAR/DFARS)
- Understanding of both buy and sell side selection and onboarding processes
- Basic knowledge of project management, including financial and risk management
- Foundational understanding of effects of import/export legislation, Incoterms and customs rules is an asset
- Ability to communicate effectively and collaboratively with internal and external stakeholders at all levels within the organization, building and maintaining professional relationships
- Demonstrated ability to work with supervision and as a member of a high performing team
- Sense of urgency with the ability to respond to rapidly changing priorities in a timely and efficient manner
- Exceptional attention to detail and strong organizational skills, with the ability to follow through and deliver results
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills are essential
- Experience with Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) systems, as well as MS Office proficiency
- Possess tact, diplomacy and the ability to maintain a high level of confidentiality
