
Electronic Warfare Instructional Systems Designer / EWC

- Identifying and contributing to the Master Training Plan and training material as it directly relates to a variety of navies' standards including the Qualification Standard and Plan (QSP) and related policy documentation
- Authoring Master Lesson Plans (MLP) and conducting related activities including media analysis and production of student handouts, instructor guides, quizzes, tests, assignments and other presentation materials based predominately on a knowledge of the Combat Management System (CMS) and its underwater subsystems
- Conducting training delivery as a Naval EW instructor or eLearning facilitator, including lectures, presentations, demonstrations, practical hands-on leadership, assignments, tests, quizzes, marking and associated administration
- Access, test, edit and upload training material via the Defence Learning Network (DLN)
- Supporting Computer-Based Training activities through data collection, storyboarding/scripting, reviews, workshops and other related activities pertaining to Naval EW
- Supporting the courseware review cycle by evolving training materials based on customer review activities and through regular liaison with technical and development staff
- Support a flexible work schedule, including travel and overtime when necessary to support program, team, and customer schedules
- Participate in training serials as EWC in the SEACOT & SEAWOLF trainers including voice reporting, passing of EW information and assisting in the management of EW operations within training scenarios
- Supervising and training Fire Control System (FCS) operation
- Supervising and training Gamepiece Operators
- Assist the Anti-Air Warfare Coordinator (AAWC) and Anit-Surface Warfare Commander (ASUWC) with scenario development
- Perform the duties of additional positions within the SEACOT & SEAWOLF environments as required in support of junior operator courses
- Support Naval Fleet School (NFS) instructors with lesson plans, operational message reviews, Emission Control (EMCON) tables, gamepiece electronic database parameters, scenario threat sheets, scenario Softkill management and mentoring
- Recent experience or a demonstrated capacity to develop training material and instruct in a classroom environment
- RCN or equivalent Electronic Warfare Supervisor (EWS) or Above Water Warfare Director experience
- Recent experience or demonstrated capacity in the performance of the EWC role
- Experience with voice communications and EW tactics
- Detailed knowledge of Lockheed Martin's CMS 330, FC and Softkill Systems
- A solid working knowledge of the Microsoft Office product suite including MS Project
- Experience with training needs analysis, course scheduling, training materials authoring and training conduct
- Strong analytical and communication skills
- Bachelor's degree from an accredited institution in a related discipline or equivalent experience/combined education with a minimum of 4 years of professional experience
- Willingness to support customer work hours from 0800 to 1600 at Canadian Forces Base (CFB) Halifax and the Maritime Advanced Training and Test site (MATTs)
- Experience with eLearning software (Storyline, domiKnow) and Learning Management Systems is an asset
- Experience with Military trainers and synthetic training solutions considered an asset
- It is considered an asset to have experience as an instructor and assessor at NFS coupled with an understanding of the DND training system Canadian Forces Individual Training and Education System (CFITES) and standards organizations (Training Quality Control and Assurance).
