Key Responsibilities
- Ensure the day-to-day operations of the laboratory, including maintaining accurate inventories of biobanked cells, mouse colonies, and laboratory consumables.
- Maintain laboratory records and provide administrative support, including scheduling meetings, managing training records, and coordinating equipment certifications and calibrations.
- Perform and document endpoint PCR-based genotyping of healthy donor and patient samples in support of ongoing biobanking activities.
- Collect, process, and biobank human samples in accordance with approved protocols, maintaining cold chain, sample viability, and accurate tracking of sample use and storage.
- Oversee cell line archiving and mycoplasma testing, and complete additional testing required for animal studies as needed.
- Assist with laboratory experiments and research activities, including mouse harvests, 3D culture setup, flow cytometry sample preparation, and cell counting.
Required Qualifications
- Undergraduate degree in biology or a related discipline, with at least 6 months' hands-on laboratory experience.
- Demonstrated ability to follow protocols and implement trained skills.
- Strong organizational skills.
- Strong communication skills.
- Ability to work in a team setting.
- Training in Transportation of Dangerous Goods, WHMIS, and biosafety (or will be provided).
