
Senior Project Manager, Roadway

- Act as a project manager or team lead for relevant projects, tasks, and other assignments for municipal, provincial & transit clients in Ontario.
- Prepare project management plans and manage scope, schedule, and budget.
- Proactively manage scope creep and negotiate change orders.
- Serve as the primary point of contact for clients, addressing concerns and updates proactively.
- Maintain a close and efficient working relationship with all discipline leads, department heads, other project managers, project controls staff, and construction personnel.
- Maintain a high level of technical quality on the projects.
- Maintain comprehensive project documentation for future reference, audits, and compliance checks.
- Prepare project progress reports to clients and internal senior management.
- Mentor project staff and participate in hiring processes.
- Provide effective and efficient management of day-to-day operations within the roads and highways team.
- Seek opportunities for process improvement, proposing initiatives that could enhance project delivery and client satisfaction.
- Participate in the company’s strategic planning, providing insights on how project outcomes align with business objectives.
- Assist in business development efforts by identifying new project opportunities and leading proposal preparation.
- 10+ years of related project experience on municipal roadway / highway projects in Ontario and the Toronto area.
- P.Eng. designation required.
- A university degree in civil engineering or related degree.
- Familiarity with roadway design software (AutoCAD, Civil 3D, MicroStation, Inroads, ORD).
- Technical excellence in roadway / highway design..
- Familiarity and experience with various delivery models and design-build or P3 projects is an asset.
- A thorough understanding of the requirements and complexities of the design and management of multi-disciplinary projects, such as utility coordination, construction staging, traffic management, public consultation, external agency approvals, communication and liaison, coordination of sub-consultants and design groups, schedule and budget control, quality control, construction administration and claims resolution.
