This role is pivotal in ensuring alignment with university objectives, tracking success metrics, and driving continuous improvement through strategic change management. Recognized as a go-to expert.MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES
Leadership and Oversight:
  • Lead the Power Team initiative, ensuring alignment with the university's vision and objectives.
  • Delivers reports and metrics on efficiency gains, adoption rates, and challenges to senior leadership.
  • Analyze feedback to refine strategies and tools for continuous improvement.
  • Lead and mentor a team in the development and deployment of AI solutions
  • Understanding of Machine Learning Operations (MLOps) principles and practices for effectively managing and automating machine learning workflows, including model versioning, monitoring, and deployment
Strategic Planning and Implementation:
  • Develop and execute strategic plans for integrating AI and RPA into administrative workflows.
  • Identify administrative processes with significant time, accuracy and consistency impacts for early automation pilots; analysis, domain modelling, use case modeling, workflow design, and documentation skills.
  • Set clear goals for pilot projects, including time saved, error reduction, and satisfaction levels.
Training and Development:
  • Collaborate with colleagues in the AI and Automation team to design and deliver training programs for administrative leaders and support staff.
  • Foster a collaborative learning environment, encouraging leaders to approach challenges with curiosity and collaboration.
Stakeholder Engagement:
  • Build and maintain relationships with internal and external stakeholders, including administrative leaders, ITS technical support teams, AI tool vendors, and industry experts.
  • Create compelling stories and messages to build excitement and trust among stakeholders.
  • Regularly communicate and report on progress and successes to stakeholders to maintain momentum.
Feedback and Iteration:
  • Collect feedback after training sessions and pilot implementations.
  • Adjust strategies and resources based on leader and team input.
  • Demonstrate accountability by holding the team responsible for both successes and lessons learned.

Chief Information Officer (CIO)QUALIFICATIONSREQUIRED KNOWLEDGE/SKILLS
  • Bachelor's degree in information technology, Business Administration, or a related field. Master's Degree in a related field preferred.
  • At least 3 years of hands-on experience in software development and scripting, with a strong foundation in coding best practices and automation.
  • A minimum of 3 years of leadership experience, ideally within a post-secondary institution, demonstrating the ability to guide teams, foster innovation, and drive strategic initiatives.
  • Experience with AI tool vendors and automation partners preferred.
  • Strong understanding of AI and RPA technologies and their applications.
  • Excellent leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to analyze data and feedback to drive continuous improvement.
  • Experience in change management and stakeholder engagement.
  • Prior experience in building AI/ML platforms
  • Familiarity with cloud platforms such as AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud Platform, for example AWS SageMaker or Azure Machine Learning
  • Familiarity with organizational change management methodologies preferred.
  • Full-time position with occasional travel for stakeholder meetings and training sessions.
