Senior AccountantOur oilfield services client is seeking a Senior Accountant to own the general ledger for U.S. operations within a multi‑entity environment. This role is responsible for full‑cycle U.S. accounting — month end close, journal entries, reconciliations, FX, and management reporting — while supporting Canadian month‑end activities as needed. The ideal candidate will bring U.S. accounting experience (U.S. entity ownership), in oilfield services and cross border multi‑entity/multi‑currency structures.Your success will be defined by your ability to:

Deliver a disciplined U.S. month‑end close (prepaids, accruals, revenue recognition, fixed assets)
Maintain a clean U.S. general ledger with complete, audit‑ready documentation across divisions and cost centers
Reconcile banks, intercompany balances, and key accounts, resolving exceptions quickly and independently
Manage multi‑currency entries and FX remeasurements between USD and CAD with accuracy
Validate field ticket: invoice flows typical in oilfield services, ensuring revenue and AR are complete and timely
Oversee AP/AR coding quality, collections escalation, and accurate subledger postings to the GL
Support payroll integration to the GL (including PEO environments), review payroll entries, and provide backup coverage when required
Build Excel‑based tools for reconciliations, variance analysis, and reporting packages that leadership can rely on
Play a key role in ERP migration and data integrity, improving processes and reducing manual effort over time
Partner effectively with U.S. field operations and internal finance leaders to troubleshoot issues and keep the close on track

Your strengths include:

CPA (or CPA‑eligible) with clear progress toward completion
U.S. accounting experience with direct ownership of a U.S. legal entity’s books (required)
Background in oilfield services or a closely related field‑services model (strongly preferred)
Hands‑on proficiency with Sage 50 (U.S.); experience with Microsoft Dynamics 365 Business Central is an asset
Proven full‑cycle GL capability: journals, reconciliations, financial statements, and management reporting
Comfortable with multi‑entity/multi‑currency accounting and intercompany reconciliations
Strong Excel skills (pivot tables, XLOOKUP/VLOOKUP, multi‑source data consolidation, variance analysis)
Familiarity with field services invoicing portals and ticketing workflows (e.g., OpenInvoice or similar)
Experience collaborating with PEO payroll environments and integrating payroll to the GL
A proactive, self‑directed approach with attention to detail, the ability to work through imperfect data, and the discipline to close on time
Willingness to travel occasionally to U.S. operations to build relationships and understand billing cycles end‑to‑end
