- Take the lead for the accounting team to organize workflows and improve departmental structure.
- Maintain a hands-on approach to the accounting process, ensuring accuracy in all financial entries.
- Manage the full accounting cycle including Accounts Payable (AP), Accounts Receivable (AR), and bank reconciliations.
- Prepare and analyze periodic financial statements to provide insights into project profitability.
- Execute precise job costing utilizing Sage 50 and SAP Business One to track project expenditures.
- Lead the financial side of project administration by reconciling job revenue, expenses, and purchase orders.
- Play a key role in the transition from SAGE 50 to a new 3rd party ERP software program, Spire.
- Coordinate orders between the company, customers, and manufacturers to ensure seamless delivery.
- Follow up on purchase orders for confirmation, accuracy, and delivery timelines.
- Maintain and develop supply chain relationships to meet sales and inventory requirements.
- Resolve material inventory discrepancies and optimize inventory levels.
- Use advanced spreadsheet and database tools to prepare detailed reports, memos, and professional documents.
- Aid in the continued development and optimization of internal 3rd party software.
- A minimum of a Diploma or Degree in Accounting from a recognized post-secondary institution.
- Several years of experience in an accounting or project administration role.
- Demonstrated experience in job costing and financial project management.
- A Project Management diploma or degree is considered a significant asset.
- Proven track record of dealing with customer service-related issues and supplier management.
- Ability to commit to a role requiring extended computer use and high attention to detail.
- Local availability to work in Calgary
