- Lead, mentor, and grow a team of 5 AI Product Designers, providing career development and design guidance
- Define and execute the design strategy for AI products across GitLab's platform
- Partner with Product Management and Engineering leadership to shape AI product roadmaps and prioritization
- Establish design standards, patterns, and best practices specifically for AI-powered experiences
- Guide your team in conducting user research and usability testing for complex AI interactions
- Contribute to and help evolve
- Present design strategies and outcomes to executive leadership and cross-functional stakeholders
- Foster a culture of user-centered design thinking within your team and across AI product development
- Experience as a Product Designer and managing design teams
- Demonstrated experience leading design for AI/ML products, natural language interfaces, or intelligent systems
- Strong understanding of DevSecOps, SDLC, and developer workflows
- Proven track record of scaling design teams and establishing design processes for complex technical products
- Excellent communication and presentation skills, with ability to influence at all organizational levels
- Background in conducting and interpreting user research for technical audiences
- Experience working with engineering teams on technical constraints and implementation feasibility
- Track record of successful cross-functional collaboration in product development environments
