As we continue to scale, we are seeking an experienced Corporate Controller to lead our accounting, payroll, and financial reporting functions while providing strategic financial insight to leadership.Key ResponsibilitiesFinancial Reporting & AccountingOwn the full-cycle accounting process, including month-end and year-end closePrepare accurate monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements in accordance with GAAPMaintain integrity of the general ledger, trial balances, and all balance sheet and income statement accountsEnsure timely and accurate account reconciliations; investigate and resolve discrepancies promptlySupport year-end audit processes and act as the primary liaison with external accountants and advisorsPayroll, Compliance & Government FilingsOversee payroll accounting and reporting in a high-volume staffing environmentEnsure accurate and timely statutory remittances and government filings, including HST, payroll taxes, T4s, ROEsAct as backup support for payroll processing when requiredEnsure compliance with all applicable federal and provincial legislation and employment standardsBudgeting, Forecasting & Financial AnalysisLead the annual budgeting process and ongoing forecasting in partnership with executive leadershipPrepare cash flow forecasts and weekly cash reportingAnalyze labour costs, gross margins, and profitability by client, contract, division, or regionProvide actionable financial insights to support pricing strategies, staffing models, and operational decision-makingCash Flow, Banking & Working CapitalMonitor cash flow, working capital, and collections to support ongoing operations and growthOversee accounts receivable and accounts payable processesMaintain banking relationships and support financing arrangements, covenant reporting, and lender requirements as neededSystems, Controls & Process ImprovementDevelop, maintain, and continuously improve internal controls, accounting policies, and financial proceduresLead or support accounting system optimization, ERP upgrades, and reporting enhancementsIdentify and implement opportunities to improve efficiency, accuracy, and scalability as the business growsLeadership & Cross-Functional CollaborationLead, mentor, and develop the accounting and payroll teamReview work, provide guidance, and ensure adherence to strong internal controls and best practicesCollaborate closely with operations, HR, dispatch, and executive leadership to align financial strategy with business objectivesQualifications & ExperienceCPA designation strongly preferredPost-secondary education in Accounting, Finance, or a related field5+ years of progressive accounting experience, including leadership responsibilityExperience in staffing, construction, logistics, or other labour-intensive industries considered a strong assetStrong knowledge of Canadian and U.S. payroll, tax compliance, and financial reportingExperience with accounting systems (QuickBooks or similar; ERP experience an asset)Proven ability to manage multiple priorities, meet deadlines, and operate in a fast-paced environmentStrong leadership, communication, and problem-solving skillsWhat We OfferCompetitive compensation commensurate with experienceBenefits packageOpportunity to play a key leadership role in a growing organizationCollaborative, entrepreneurial work environmentProfessional growth and long-term career development opportunitiesClear communicator who can partner effectively with non-finance teams
