Read on!What will your typical day look like?As a Payroll Specialist, you will serve as a key subject matter expert supporting payroll operations for all Canadian-based employees. You will ensure accuracy, compliance, and efficiency across all payroll processes while handling complex queries and escalations. Your responsibilities include leading end to end payroll processing, managing case management activities, overseeing gross to net calculations, audits, and balancing, and collaborating with internal and external stakeholders to resolve issues. You will prepare deductions, remittances, and statutory filings; support year end activities such as T4s and reconciliations; compile provincial reports; analyze bi weekly payroll and GL data; manage Quebec specific requirements; mentor junior team members; and support process enhancements.About the teamThe Payroll Specialist is an integral member of our team responsible for the end-to-end processing and administration of Deloitte Canada’s national payroll. The successful candidate will play a senior role in ensuring the timely and accurate delivery of payroll and related client services, including advanced data analysis, reporting, and continuous improvement initiatives. This position provides payroll expertise and support to all employees and business lines.Enough about us, let’s talk about youYou are someone with these required skills, experience and qualifications:
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills.
  • Holds the Canadian Payroll Association Certification (PCP or CPM) or is actively working towards completion.
  • Brings a minimum of 5 years’ experience in a large, multi-jurisdictional payroll environment, including experience with complex payroll scenarios and escalations.
  • Demonstrates strong organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
  • Possesses advanced knowledge of PeopleSoft or similar HRIS/payroll systems.
  • Recognized for your analytical skills, attention to detail, and commitment to compliance and process improvement.
  • Due to the nature of the role and interactions with national clients, bilingualism in French and English is required
Total RewardsThe salary range for this position is $58,000 - $96,000, and individuals may be eligible to participate in our bonus program.
