Their portfolio spans contemporary commercial spaces, multi-residential developments, and public projects, all delivered with a high level of creativity and technical precision.With a growing pipeline of work and an expanding team, the studio is seeking a senior-level Architectural Practice Manager / Project Manager to take on a key leadership role within the firm. This is a unique opportunity to influence both project delivery and overall studio operations.The RoleThis is a hybrid leadership role combining firm-wide practice management with hands-on project management responsibilities.Practice Management Responsibilities
- Oversee firm-wide project resourcing, staffing, and utilization using tools such as Monograph
- Monitor project progress across the studio—understanding where each project sits in its lifecycle
- Ensure balanced workloads across teams and proactively address capacity or burnout risks
- Provide high-level coordination across all active projects, effectively “project managing the firm”
- Support leadership in operational decision-making and performance tracking
- Lead projects from concept through construction, ensuring successful delivery at every stage
- Develop and manage project schedules, budgets, and milestones, make regular site visits
- Coordinate internal teams and external consultants (sub-consultants, engineers, etc.)
- Monitor project financials, including hours, fees, and overall budget performance
- Maintain strong client relationships and act as a key point of contact
- Ensure quality control across design, documentation, and construction phases
- 7–12 years of experience in architecture, interior design, or architectural technology
- Proven experience managing projects and leading teams on mid-to-large-scale developments
- PMP designation an asset but not essential
- Strong understanding of project financials, scheduling, and resource planning
- Experience with firm-wide resourcing or operational oversight is a strong asset
- Professional designation (Registered Architect or Intern Architect in Canada) preferred, but not required
- Strong knowledge of building systems, construction methods, and contract administration
- Proficiency in Revit (preferred) and familiarity with AutoCAD
- Solid understanding of the Alberta Building Code and local permitting processes
- Excellent leadership, communication, and organizational skills
- Comfortable in a client-facing role and able to build lasting relationships
