We help businesses, not-for profit organizations, and other organizations solve their R&D challenges by building partnerships with academia and using world-class talent from Canadian educational institutions. We are at the forefront of marketing Mitacs programs to businesses, professors, and students.KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

Work closely with members of Mitacs Business Development, Research, and Programs teams to deliver high quality programming

Work closely with stakeholders at Carleton University to fully understand the needs of researchers and students, find industry and not-for-profit opportunities, and identify the best programs to capitalize on the research opportunities uncovered.
Speak with industry partners to determine their R&D needs, connect them with specialists in academia, and advise them on the best programs to leverage the research opportunities uncovered

Create and maintain a network of partners and clients in industry and academia

Provide support to the Business Development team as needed

Provide business development support to all Mitacs programs as needed

Provide business development and student engagement support

SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE:

MSc or PhD, or an equivalent combination of education and research experience
Excellent communication skills

Excellent presentation skills

Highly energetic and enthusiastic mindset

Ability to adapt to priority changes.
Team player mentality

Ability to think creatively and try new things

Desire to pursue a career outside of research and academia
Ability to work in a fast-paced, high-performance culture
