Reporting to the Clinical Manager, the Business Clerk would be responsible to provide Clerical, administrative or business support to patients, families and those providing service and/or care. Functions according to the job description for Business Clerks.Qualifications1. Grade 12 or equivalent
2. Graduate of community college secretarial or office administration program or equivalent or equivalent office experience
3. Medical Terminology Certificate 1 and 2 and/or demonstrated knowledge equivalent to the Medical Terminology Certificate 1 and 2 acquired in a different Business Clerk position, which will be subject to testing
4. Keyboarding 40 wpm
5. 5. Knowledge and skill with office procedures and equipment such as fax, photocopier, label printer, multiple phone lines, etc.
6. Knowledge and skill in using computer with working knowledge of Microsoft Office Programs (Word, Excel, Outlook)
7. Knowledge of Meditech CWS- Operating Room module and Novari booking system preferred
8. Demonstrated effective communication (verbal and written), interpersonal, public relations and problem-solving skills
9. Ability to set priorities and organize work accordingly
10. Ability to deal with various hospital departments effectively and collaboratively
11. Demonstrated ability to interact with adult and pediatric patients and their families, with patience, courtesy and tact. Ability to demonstrate attributes that contribute to a respectful, caring environment
12. Ability to appreciate the confidential nature of the position.
13. Ability to sit for long periods, repetitive reaching, repetitive bending.As a condition of employment, you are required to submit proof of full COVID-19 vaccination to Employee Health Services.
