You will be reporting to the AVP, Automobile Portfolio.This position is responsible for Aviva’s Personal Insurance businesses from an underwriting and risk perspective to support the growth and profitability of a $3.2B+ portfolio. This position provides analysis and insight to business leaders within NPI as well as working directly with the front-line underwriting staff & our partners, fostering a positive and dynamic work environment that values people and achieves outperforming results.The position requires strong technical understanding of the personal insurance automobile P&C industry. The position is accountable for supporting product, underwriting and risk in both the broker and direct channels, within a collaborative environment identifying trends, discrepancies, and opportunities, including key governance priorities underpinned by a strong risk and control framework.Come join our team!What you’ll do:Review and support the implementation of changes to underwriting frameworks, rules, technical guidance and products/propositions, whilst adhering to policies, controls, regulatory requirements and legislation.Manage and maintain up-to-date and accurate technical guidance and product documentation, handle queries and referrals using established processes and procedures, identify and escalate more complex issues.Monitor adherence to underwriting authorities, controls and regulations, prepare reports and documentation related to underwriting activities, and support audits and reviews as appropriate.Complete technical analysis, provide advice and support for: Pricing, Underwriting & Product Development, Systems, Digital. Identify Underwriting trends and provide input into action plans/solutions.Assist in the execution of key Personal Insurance initiatives in pursuit of profitable business growth.Support Product/Rate Change Priorities including regulatory filings as appropriate.Help to maximize efficiencies through simplifying business practices and processes.Stay up-to-date with industry trends and best practices, providing feedback, analysis, recommendations, technical support and guidance to stakeholders.Develop strong collaborative relationships with internal and external partners.Identify discrepancies between distribution channels and work to ensure an aligned experience and workflow.What you’ll bring:University degree and/or College DiplomaAdvance degree and/or professional qualification an assetMinimum 6-8 yrs. experience in the Personal Insurance Property and Casualty business3-5 years Technical Automobile Underwriting experience including an understanding of the automobile regulatory environmentPrior experience with project initiatives in a leading or supporting roleFrench speaking is an assetStrong relationship building skillsTrack record of successful delivery of various high priority initiatives under tight timelinesStrong Strategic visionExcellent analytical skillsComplex problem-solving skillsOutstanding interpersonal and communication skillsAbility to collaborate with and influence key partners to achieve resultsWhat you’ll get:The salary band for this position ranges from $65,000 to $90,000.
