We’re looking for a talented and passionate Senior Java Developer to join our team. You’ll be working to develop, maintain and extend existing applications. You will join a very dynamic team that is highly technical and has a great track record of delivering multiple innovative solutions within the organization. This is a hands-on technical role, very independent with an opportunity for growth.What will you do?Code/design for small to large projects/programs identifying, tracking and resolving technical issuesContribute to successful solution development and delivery by identifying risks and developing/recommending mitigation strategiesStay open-minded and look beyond your stack to solve complex problemsActively seek out knowledge about new technologies and how they can be used to solve current and foreseeable challenges.Provide input and work with other teams in creating new and modifying existing database or infrastructure objects based on required functionalityParticipate in walkthrough reviews of all technical design, specifications, programs and unit test plansAssist the DevOps/support teams in various activities, such as troubleshooting high priority implementation issues, production investigations, etc.Ability to simplify complex problems and communicate them in plain languageWhat you need to succeed?Must have:4+ years’ experience in Java development with Spring Boot frameworkSolid understanding and hands on of RESTful APIs and asynchronous request handling.Working knowledge of the Java programming language and supporting frameworks such as Spring, Spring Boot, Spring cloud, Spring Batch.Hands on experience designing, developing, testing and troubleshooting RESTful API and interface specifications (Swagger, RAML, SOAP)Familiar with J2EE and StrutsExperience RDBMS database – DB2, MS SQL etc. Database Query performance tuning experienceExperience working with DevOps pipelines (Git, Maven, Jenkins), continuous integration/delivery, automated testing (unit, functional, performance)Experience working with security gateways and protocols (JWT, Oauth2.0, SSL Certificates)Experience working within professional software engineering practices for the full software development life cycle, including coding standards, code reviews, source code management, build processes and testingExperience with code merging and branching methodologies using Git and code release process.Working knowledge of web-based application architectures and frameworks (including Angular or React) and the way it integrates with services.Leverage Open Source technology and contribute to open source where possibleExperience supporting production-level monitoring software (Dynatrace).Nice-to-have:Object Oriented coding practices, including strong design patterns knowledge, refactoring, clean code.Experience working with Kafka, MySQL, Non-relational databases, CachingExperience in BDD and TDD methodologiesWorking experience in one or more of:o algorithm design and optimizationo large-scale systemso parallel or distributed systemso RDBMS and/or modern scale-out repositories (MySQL, MongoDB, Redis)Experience building message driven architectures (Kafka)Micro-service design and implementation (load balancing, discovery, resiliency)What’s in it for you?We thrive on the challenge to be our best, progressive thinking to keep growing, and working together to deliver trusted advice to help our clients thrive and communities prosper.
