
Payroll Analyst

- Download and run final audit reports from ADP to ensure the accurate processing of payroll on a bi-weekly/monthly basis
- Other ad hoc reporting, such as WFN and Oracle custom reporting
- Ensure timely and accurate processing of bi-weekly & monthly payroll
- Manage the time and attendance system (Kronos) and assist timekeepers
- Audit employee data changes and pay-related changes (taxes, salary increases or benefits) within Oracle HCM
- Manage In-house short-term disability payments
- Audit third party provider reports for accuracy and will investigate and action accordingly (i.e. Morneau, SunLife, etc.)
- Understand all collective agreements and validate information in Oracle
- Work with multiple unions to adhere to the various requirements documented in the collective bargaining agreements, including reporting and remitting
- Adhere to privacy acts (PIPA/PIPEDA)
- Calculate statutory withholdings
- Remit and report to all governing bodies
- Communicate payroll compliance requirements to various stakeholders
- Reconcile CRA payroll accounts to ADP balancing to ensure any outliers are listed and outstanding amounts are remitted
- Reconcile and provide year-end taxable benefit adjustments to ADP
- Reconcile year-end adjustments as required to ensure accurate year-end reporting
- Assist and support HR processors in answering employees' year-end questions
- Collaborate with ADP on requested amendments where required
- Year-end reporting required for all government agencies (i.e. WCB. EHT, CNESST, etc.)
- Previous year reporting to various business units and/or departments
- Communicate all aspects of organizational remittances, accounting and year end requirements to internal, external and government stakeholders
- Post-secondary education in a related field
- 5 years' experience using ADP Workforce Now (WFN)
- Advanced Excel and reporting skills, including proficiency in advance formulas, pivot tables and macros
- Understanding of federal and provincial regulations with the Canada Revenue Agency/Revenue Quebec regarding the Canada Pension Plan, Employment Insurance Act, Income Tax Act, Employment Standards legislation, Workers Compensation actions, and Quebec-specific legislation
- Detail oriented and possess strong organizational and communication skills (both written and verbal)
- Ability to influence decision making in a supportive and constructive manner.
- Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with all interested stakeholders
- Professional with the ability to work independently and within a team environment while managing multiple demands
- Ability to prioritize and organize workload to meet strict deadlines
- Payroll Compliance Professional (PCP) or Payroll Leadership Professional (PLP) designation is an asset
- WFN implementation experience is an asset
- Experience with Oracle Time and Labour (OTL) is an asset
- Knonos experience is an asset
