The Banquet Chef will oversee all aspects of banquet food preparation, ensuring the highest quality standards for weddings, conferences, special events, and group functions. This role involves menu planning, supervising kitchen staff, maintaining food safety standards, and ensuring timely, efficient service.Key ResponsibilitiesPlan, prepare, and execute all banquet and catering menus, ensuring creativity, quality, and presentation standards are met.Lead and mentor the banquet culinary team, fostering a positive and productive work environment.Collaborate with the Executive Chef and event planning teams to customize menus for client needs.Monitor food costs, inventory, and waste to achieve budgetary goals.Ensure compliance with health, safety, and sanitation standards.Maintain a high level of organization and attention to detail, especially during high-volume service periods.QualificationsRed Seal Certification or equivalent culinary training preferred.Minimum 3–5 years’ experience in a high-volume banquet or catering environment, with at least 2 years in a leadership role.Strong leadership, organizational, and communication skills.Proven ability to work under pressure while maintaining quality standards.Creativity and passion for delivering exceptional guest experiences.Flexible schedule, including evenings, weekends, and holidays as required.What We OfferHealth Benefits, RRSP/DPSPStaff accommodation options (subject to availability).Resort perks including golf, waterfront activities, and dining discounts.Opportunities for professional development and career growth.A unique chance to live and work in Muskoka’s beautiful natural setting.
