Position SummaryThe Stewarding Attendant is responsible for operating all dishwashing equipment to sanitize kitchen tools, glassware, pots and pans, cutlery, etc. They are also responsible for the prepare and set-up the glass and silverware for banquet functions as required.Duties & ResponsibilitiesWashes all dishes, pots, pans, glasses and cutlery according to Deerhurst Resort standards and hand wash pots and pans as neededOperates the dish machine in the prescribed mannerThoroughly cleans and washes all kitchen equipment, stewarding storage rooms, hallways, machines, floorsCompletes daily dishwashing machine audits and test strip reading as requiredFollows all sanitation standardsRe-stocks all clean equipment, pots, pans, etc. in designated areaReports any faulty equipment immediately to leaderMonitors breakage to ensure damage is kept to an absolute minimumDaily monitors of chemical consumption to ensure cost effectiveness and efficiencyDaily checks of Banquet Event Order’s to ensure all guests expectations are metCounts inventory on a quarterly basis as directedEnsures daily cleanliness of compactor areaEnsures the well-being of our guests and team members by being alert to and reporting potential hazardsComfortable making decisions and develops recommendations for effective problem solvingFollows all resort health and safety requirements; personal protective equipment and safe work proceduresParticipates in all department meetings and training programsCompletes all other duties as assignedQualificationsAble to work well with othersAble to take initiative within given guidelinesPays precise attention to detail, order and cleanlinessHas effective communication skills (verbal, listening, writing)Able to adapt in a fast pace, constant changing environment within a dynamic work scheduleAble to maintain composure and objectivityAble to identify problems and make recommendations for improvementsIs flexible with their schedule, able to work long hours, shift work, evenings, weekends and holidays as business levels requireAble to exert up to 50 pounds of force occasionally, and/or 20 pounds of force frequently or constantly to lift, carry, push, pull, or otherwise move objectsExperience in a hotel or related field an assetCurrent sanitation certificate an assetMust be at least 15 years of ageVisa Requirements: Must be eligible to work in CanadaThe above job description is not intended to be exhaustive lists of all responsibilities, skills or efforts associated with or expected of the role, but are intended to accurately reflect principal job elements.
