- Oversee the accurate processing of payroll for a large workforce, ensuring compliance with relevant regulations and organizational policies.
- Collaborate with team members, including clerks and analysts, to maintain smooth payroll operations and resolve any discrepancies.
- Manage data entry and validation for Workday systems, including testing and troubleshooting as needed.
- Handle payroll deductions, garnishments, and benefit-related functions, ensuring timely and accurate reporting.
- Support timesheet and attendance management processes, working closely with designated personnel.
- Prepare and reconcile monthly payroll reports, identifying and addressing inconsistencies.
- Provide expertise on payroll matters in a unionized environment, ensuring adherence to collective agreements.
- Assist in the development and implementation of process improvements to enhance efficiency and accuracy in payroll operations.
- Proven experience in payroll management, preferably within a large organization.
- Proficiency with payroll and accounting systems such as ADP Workforce Now, Ceridian, and Dayforce.
- Strong understanding of payroll functions, including deductions, benefits, and tax accounting.
- Familiarity with unionized work environments and collective agreement compliance.
- Experience with Workday systems, including data management and testing.
- Excellent analytical skills with the ability to identify and resolve payroll discrepancies.
- Strong organizational and communication skills to manage multiple priorities effectively.
- Knowledge of Canadian payroll regulations and best practices.
