As a nimble and specialized firm, we pride ourselves on delivering practical insight, expert analysis, and enduring value to our clients.About the RoleWe are seeking an experienced Procurement Specialist with deep exposure to mining projects and operations , including capital projects, site procurement, and contractor-driven environments . This role will play a critical part in managing procurement packages from RFx through contract award, supporting both study-phase and operating mine environments .The successful candidate will be highly commercial, process-driven, and comfortable working alongside technical, engineering, site, and executive teams .Key ResponsibilitiesProcurement & ContractingManage procurement activities for major CAPEX and OPEX packages across mining projects and operating sitesLead RFx processes (EOI, RFP, RFQ) from initiation through evaluation, negotiation, and awardPrepare and manage procurement strategies aligned with project schedules and budgetsDevelop and administer contracts, MSAs, and service agreementsSupport contract negotiations, change orders, and ongoing contract administrationBid Evaluation & GovernanceDesign and implement multi-criteria bid evaluation matricesEnsure procurement activities are fair, transparent, and auditableCoordinate internal technical and commercial reviewsWork closely with legal teams on terms & conditions and risk mitigationStakeholder & Vendor ManagementBuild and maintain strong relationships with suppliers, contractors, and service providersCollaborate with engineering, technical services, site teams, and project controlsSupport Indigenous and local supplier engagement strategies where applicableManage contractor communications throughout procurement cyclesSystems, Process & ReportingManage procurement activities within ERP systems (e.g., SAP or similar)Track procurement packages using structured reporting tools and dashboardsDrive continuous improvement initiatives to reduce cycle times and improve efficiencyMaintain procurement documentation and records for compliance and reportingRequired Experience & Qualifications7+ years of procurement or supply chain experience , preferably within mining, EPCM, or heavy industrial projectsProven experience managing large, complex procurement packages in project environmentsStrong understanding of contracting strategies, tendering, and bid evaluationExperience supporting studies (PEA, PFS, FS) and/or operating mine environmentsHands-on experience with ERP systems (SAP strongly preferred)Demonstrated ability to work across multidisciplinary teams and remote sitesStrong commercial judgment, negotiation skills, and attention to detailPreferred QualificationsSCMP designation or equivalent professional supply chain certificationExperience working with mining contractors, OEMs, and engineering firmsExposure to Indigenous procurement and partnership frameworksBackground in mining project controls, scheduling, or estimatingExperience in Canadian mining projects (remote or northern operations an asset)What Success Looks LikeProcurement packages are delivered on time, on budget, and with strong commercial outcomesProcurement cycle times are reduced through structured processes and clear governanceStakeholders view procurement as a value-adding partner , not a bottleneckVendors experience fair, professional, and well-managed procurement processes
