Job Description:Are you an experienced safety professional looking for a new challenge? Do you experience working in residential and/or commercial construction? Here are the main responsibilities:Safety Compliance and Risk Management:
  • Develop, implement, and maintain safety policies, procedures, and programs to ensure compliance OH& S, and other relevant regulations.
  • Help the company achieve COR certification.
  • Conduct regular site inspections to identify and mitigate potential safety hazards within HVAC and plumbing service operations.
  • Investigate accidents and incidents, providing thorough reporting and recommending corrective actions to prevent recurrence.
  • Lead safety training programs, toolbox talks, and workshops for HVAC and plumbing technicians and associated personnel.
  • Maintain and monitor all safety-related records and documentation, ensuring consistent updates and accessibility for audits.
Fleet Management:
  • Oversee the operation, maintenance, and compliance of the company's vehicle fleet, keeping vehicles in optimal condition to support service delivery.
  • Track and manage all fleet assets, including mileage, fuel usage, and maintenance schedules, ensuring regulatory compliance (e.g., DOT requirements).
  • Develop and communicate policies for driver safety and vehicle operation best practices.
  • Collaborate with mechanics and vendors to schedule repairs and preventative maintenance, minimizing downtime and associated costs.
  • Monitor fleet budgets, analyze expenses, and identify areas for cost efficiency.
Collaboration and Reporting:
  • Collaborate closely with Operations, HR, and Project Management teams to align safety and fleet practices with company goals.
  • Establish and deliver regular reports on safety and fleet performance, safety incident statistics, and compliance updates to senior management.
  • Serve as the main point of contact for safety audits, fleet inspections, and compliance inquiries.
This is a full-time, permanent role that is primarily office-based, with some travel to work sites in and around the Edmonton area. Apply today!Requirements:
  • A minimum of 5 years of experience in occupational health and safety or a related field.
  • NCSO designation (or higher) is required.
  • Strong knowledge of occupational health and safety regulations and best practices.
  • Proven experience in fleet management, including vehicle maintenance and compliance.
  • Ability to conduct thorough safety inspections and risk assessments.
  • Excellent communication and training skills to engage employees and foster a culture of safety.
  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to maintain accurate records and documentation.
  • Familiarity with HVAC or plumbing service operations is considered an asset.
  • Demonstrated ability to collaborate effectively across departments and with external vendors
