- Develop, implement, and maintain safety policies, procedures, and programs to ensure compliance OH& S, and other relevant regulations.
- Help the company achieve COR certification.
- Conduct regular site inspections to identify and mitigate potential safety hazards within HVAC and plumbing service operations.
- Investigate accidents and incidents, providing thorough reporting and recommending corrective actions to prevent recurrence.
- Lead safety training programs, toolbox talks, and workshops for HVAC and plumbing technicians and associated personnel.
- Maintain and monitor all safety-related records and documentation, ensuring consistent updates and accessibility for audits.
- Oversee the operation, maintenance, and compliance of the company's vehicle fleet, keeping vehicles in optimal condition to support service delivery.
- Track and manage all fleet assets, including mileage, fuel usage, and maintenance schedules, ensuring regulatory compliance (e.g., DOT requirements).
- Develop and communicate policies for driver safety and vehicle operation best practices.
- Collaborate with mechanics and vendors to schedule repairs and preventative maintenance, minimizing downtime and associated costs.
- Monitor fleet budgets, analyze expenses, and identify areas for cost efficiency.
- Collaborate closely with Operations, HR, and Project Management teams to align safety and fleet practices with company goals.
- Establish and deliver regular reports on safety and fleet performance, safety incident statistics, and compliance updates to senior management.
- Serve as the main point of contact for safety audits, fleet inspections, and compliance inquiries.
- A minimum of 5 years of experience in occupational health and safety or a related field.
- NCSO designation (or higher) is required.
- Strong knowledge of occupational health and safety regulations and best practices.
- Proven experience in fleet management, including vehicle maintenance and compliance.
- Ability to conduct thorough safety inspections and risk assessments.
- Excellent communication and training skills to engage employees and foster a culture of safety.
- Strong organizational skills with the ability to maintain accurate records and documentation.
- Familiarity with HVAC or plumbing service operations is considered an asset.
