Job DescriptionWhat is the opportunity?​RBC Home Equity Financing (HEF), Canada’s leading lender of residential mortgages, is hiring for a Senior Manager, Home Equity Finance, Policy. Responsibilities will include designing and writing new lending policies, providing policy and process response for regulatory and other risk reviews, recommending prudent risk management activities, and other policy related projects as assigned. You will support the Senior Director, HEF Policy and Product and work closely with key partners including Credit Adjudication, Sales, Operations and Group Risk Management.What will you do?Own key policies and develop policy changes to achieve Home Equity Financing objectives and goals to simplify and improve the client experience, enable employees to provide holistic client advice and sell mortgage products, reduce costs and manage risks.Enhance shareholder value by identifying and working through opportunities to optimize Home Equity Financing policies and end-to-end processes.Serve as Subject Matter Expert for all policy matters relating to Home Equity Financing and its policies.Collaborate with key partners in Adjudication, Sales, Operations, Group Risk Management, AML, Compliance and Business Risk Management.Assist in the development of strategies aligned to HEF priorities.Author memorandums and risk assessments as required.Create implementation plans, including communications and change management to ensure common understanding across mortgage value chain of new or amended policies.Proactively identify and lead timely resolution of any risks, control deficiencies and issues identified and related to Home Equity Finance policy.What do you need to succeed?Must-have:5-10+ years in credit, credit risk, risk management or a strategic business roleStrong risk management and/or operations knowledge with proven experience of the mortgage business including mortgage value chain of application, underwriting, fulfillment and servicingProgressive industry / business operational experience with solid understanding of business process development and improvementAbility to understand data analytics to translate to business impacts and develop recommendationsExcellent written and verbal communication including experience presenting to stakeholder groupsExperience writing risk assessments or other similar proposal and approval documentsAbility to understand impacts of regulatory policy changes, complete analysis and provide recommendations for action to managementNice to have:Experience in other credit lending or strategic businesses (i.e. Personal Credit Lending, Commercial Credit lending, Credit Cards, etc.)Fluent or proficient in FrenchWhat’s in it for you?We thrive on the challenge to be our best, progressive thinking to keep growing, and working together to deliver trusted advice to help our clients thrive and communities prosper.
