
Director, Merchandise Planning

- Develop strategic merchandise plans to achieve the company’s financial targets for near-term as well as long-term sustainable growth;
- Manage pre-season and in-season forecasts at the product category level and lead the monthly OTB review;
- Partner with Merchandising, Allocation, Financial Planning, and other business unit leaders to identify and execute opportunities for sales and margin growth;
- Manage seasonal inventory levels through effective lifecycle planning, assortment planning, and price management;
- Set and manage inventory levels by category and in total to achieve the company’s BOP and WOS targets, including an effective end-of-season liquidation strategy;
- Assess data needs and support the development and implementation of new tools and applications, including change management among the team;
- Recruit, develop, and retain a high-performing team of merchandise planners;
- Participate as a member of the Brand Leadership team, partnering with other business unit leaders on all major brand initiatives.
- Bachelor’s degree in Commerce or a related field, preferably in the following order: Mathematics or Finance – Business Administration;
- 5 to 7 years of experience in a similar role;
- Experience in the retail industry required;
- Excellent management skills and experience leading large teams;
- Comprehensive knowledge of the brand and target market;
- Expertise with planning programs and tools;
- Experience with Merchandise Planning systems is an asset.
