
Reporter Punjabi

- Pitch, chase, write, research and present compelling stories and segments on-air for the regional and national newscast with an emphasis on content for the Punjabi community in Canada
- Monitor all news sources and be on top of breaking news and developing situations and assist in breaking news coverage
- Back-fill for Anchor shifts as needed, and work multiple shifts including evenings and weekends, as required
- Speak fluently in Punjabi, read and write Punjabi, and have a minimum basic working knowledge of English
- Must be able to take direction well and willing to adapt to rapidly changing technology
- Minimum of 1-2 years broadcast experience in news with strong news judgment, good writing skills, knowledge of current events, and excellent communication and people skills
- Effective collaborator who believes in team work
- Degree or Diploma in Broadcast Journalism or related field and/or equivalent experience an asset
