- Communicates and collaborates with diverse stakeholders to assist in the development and document analysis pipelines for calculating Essential Biodiversity Variables and Indicators.
- Reviews and tests analysis pipelines that are contributed by BON in a Box collaborators. This includes understanding the analysis with support from publications, the team and the contributor, testing pipelines with different parameters, fixing R and python code so it runs, and making sure that the pipelines are well documented.
- Regularly tests and maintains existing analysis pipelines. This will involve running pipelines in the tool and fixing any code that no longer works due to package or software updates.
- Assists with finding relevant grants.
- Strong background in ecological theory and methods.
- Proficiency in R and/or Python coding and experience with biodiversity data analysis.
- Rapid learner.
- Demonstrated problem-solving skills.
- Strong written and oral communication skills.
- Commitment to advancing biodiversity conservation efforts
- Experience analyzing geospatial data.
- Experience in R and/or Python coding, Julia an asset.
- Pursuing a degree in biology, data science, or similar field.
- Must be approved as a Work Study Student, McGill University.
