
Legal Translator (English to French)

- Translate insurance wordings as well as internal and external communications for the Specialty Solutions department. Translate documents for other areas of the company as needed.
- Revise translations done by team members and, if needed, those done by external providers.
- Provide language consulting services in your field of expertise to internal and external business partners and perform terminological research as needed.
- Provide high-quality service and meet deadlines.
- Contribute to translation memory and terminology databases.
- B.A. with specialization in Translation or any equivalent combination of education and experience.
- College or university degree or recognized training in the legal field.
- At least five years of experience as a translator, including at least three years of experience translating legal documents.
- Experience in the financial or insurance sector would be a strong asset.
- Member of the Barreau, an asset.
- Member of OTTIAQ, ATIO or any other recognized association, an asset.
- Strong knowledge of MS Office applications.
- Knowledge of translation memory and terminology management software (MultiTrans Trados Studio, etc.), an asset.
- Highly organized and proactive individual; self-starter who can work both independently and collaboratively as part of a team.
- Ability to set priorities and meet deadlines.
- Customer focus and attention to quality and detail.
- No Canadian work experience required but must have authorization to work in Canada.
- For candidates located in Quebec, bilingualism is required considering the necessity to interact on a regular basis with English-speaking colleagues across the country.
