- Serve as a strategic advisor to market leaders, providing guidance and expertise on event strategy to achieve key business objectives.
- Independently plan, manage, and execute high-impact events in various formats (in-person, virtual, and hybrid) for both clients and internal stakeholders.
- Build and maintain strong, strategic relationships with internal leaders, offering recommendations on event best practices and industry trends.
- Oversee all logistical aspects of event planning, including venue selection, vendor contracting and management, online registration, food and beverage coordination, audio-visual production, and space setup.
- Manage complex event requirements, such as hotel blocks, rooming lists, transportation planning, and attendee experience.
- Manage all creative and experiential components of events, such as décor, event design, entertainment, and keynote speaker selection.
- Coordinate meeting logistics, speaker selection and preparation (including dry runs), run-of-show creation, and day-of-event management.
- Oversee virtual event production, including platform setup, broadcasting, and production management.
- Provide support to members of the National Events Team, leveraging influence and expertise as a senior team member.
- Collaborate closely with internal teams such as Marketing, Communications, People & Culture, and external suppliers to design and deliver successful events.
- Administer all aspects of event budgets, including cost projections, payment processing, and reconciliation, in collaboration with Finance, Procurement, Independence, and Risk Management teams.
- Demonstrate resourcefulness and adaptability in resolving event-related challenges and complexities.
- Minimum of 4-6 years of progressive experience in event planning, with a proven track record of managing complex, high-impact events in various formats.
- In-depth knowledge of the event industry and well-established professional relationships across Alberta, Manitoba, and Saskatchewan.
- Post-secondary education in Event Management, Hospitality, Business, Communications, or a related field.
- Strong proficiency in MS Office; experience with event platforms (Cvent an asset).
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with proven ability to collaborate across teams and with stakeholders.
- Demonstrated ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
- Strong problem-solving, leadership, and budget management skills.
