In this pivotal role, you’ll oversee the safe, efficient, and high quality execution of all millwrighting and mechanical installation activities, driving field excellence from initial planning through to final turnover.As a key site leader, you will champion safety and environmental stewardship, uphold rigorous quality standards, and execute field project plans that keep crews productive, aligned, and on schedule. Your leadership, technical expertise, and ability to anticipate project needs will be instrumental in delivering successful, high performance projects.Join the Ledcor team today!Essential Responsibilities:Ensure all millwrighting work is completed according to approved drawings, specifications, equipment manuals, and applicable codes, while maintaining efficiency in labour and materialsEnsure site safety requirements meet or exceed corporate standards, regulatory expectations, and Workers’ Compensation Board requirementsReview, maintain, and update the construction schedule, ensuring mechanical milestones and completion targets are metOversee the care, operation, and maintenance of mechanical tools, equipment, and company assets; forecast equipment needs in coordination with other superintendents and the Construction ManagerReview subcontractor/supplier invoices against field purchase orders and report discrepancies to the Project Manager or accounting teamHire, lead, and mentor hourly millwright crews in collaboration with Construction/Project Managers; approve and submit detailed timecards for accurate job costingPrepare field change orders to be signed by owners or their representatives as requiredWork with coordinators/engineers to craft and submit RFI’s to clarify scope, drawings, or installation requirementsDevelop and implement resource loaded 3week lookahead schedules aligned with overall project milestonesQualifications:3 to 8 years of mechanical or industrial construction supervision experienceJourneyperson Millwright (Industrial Mechanic) designation requiredPrevious experience as a General Foreman, Superintendent, or similar direct supervisory roleCombination of industry experience and related trade certifications/educationStrong understanding of mechanical systems, industrial equipment installation, alignment, rigging, and commissioning processesAbility to plan, sequence, and manage mechanical scope to a project scheduleStrong understanding of construction drawings, mechanical documentation, and contract requirementsKnowledge of project budgets, mechanical cost controls, and contract managementDemonstrated safety leadership and ability to work effectively with diverse stakeholdersStrong communication skills with the ability to adapt to different audiencesAbility to identify issues, interpret stakeholder needs, and provide solutions to nonroutine challengesSkilled at promoting teamwork and building consensusWork Conditions:Travel required; fulltime project location will be determined within Western CanadaSite based role; rotational shift may apply depending on project requirementsAbility to work evenings, holidays, weekends, and travel away from home as neededAdditional InformationThe Ledcor Group of Companies is one of North America’s most diversified construction companies.
