We’re looking for a seasoned and forward thinking Piping Superintendent to help lead our growing Industrial division as we take on a series of major projects across Western Canada. In this pivotal role, you’ll oversee the safe, efficient, and high quality execution of all piping activities while driving field excellence from planning through turnover.As a key site leader, you will champion safety and environmental stewardship, uphold rigorous quality standards, and execute field project plans that keep crews productive, aligned, and on schedule. You’ll provide clear direction to field staff, subcontractors, and trades, ensuring work is completed safely, on time, and within budget.You are a natural problem solver—someone who thrives on tackling complex challenges and bringing innovative, actionable solutions to the field. Your expertise, leadership, and ability to anticipate what’s needed next will be instrumental in delivering successful, high performance projects.Join the Ledcor team today!Essential Responsibilities:Ensures that projects are built according to approved plans, specifications and applicable building codes and that efficiency in labour and materials maintain high quality standardsEnsures that site safety measures meet or exceed the parameters set out by corporate safety manual, Workers’ Compensation Board or any other authoritiesReviews, maintains and updates the construction schedule and ensures milestone and completion dates are metOversees the care and maintenance of company vehicles and equipment on the project to maximize use while on the job site, plans ahead for equipment requirements in conjunction with other superintendents and the Construction Manager, and updates equipment log as requiredReviews subtrade/supplier invoices against the field purchase orders and report any discrepancies to the Project Manager or the accounting departmentHires and manages hourly employees as required to complete the project in consultation with the Construction/Project Managers and maintains, approves and submits hourly time cards with all necessary details for job costing purposesPrepares field change orders to be signed by project owner or representative when requestedWorks with coordinators/engineers to craft and submit RFI’s as required for clarification of scopesDevelop and implement resource loaded 3 week look ahead schedules that meet the overall Project scheduleQualifications:3 to 8 years construction supervision experienceJM Pipefitter/SteamfitterPrevious experience as a GF, Superintendent or similar direct supervisory roleCombination of work experience in a similar role and industry related trade certification / educationSolid understanding of modern construction practicesSolid understanding of piping/welding codes as applicable to Industrial piping constructionStrong understanding of all the construction trades with specific expertise in piping installation procedures and pipe weldingAbility to plan and manage to a project scheduleUnderstanding of construction documents and the ability to ensure that they are complete, protect the owner’s interest, clearly define expectations and provide incentive to performContract negotiation/management skillsKnowledge of construction costs and budgetsA strong safety record and the ability to work with a variety of individualsCapacity to understand and interpret stakeholder needs and identify solutions to non-routine tasks or queriesAbility to adapt information and communication style to the audienceSkilled at promoting teamwork to establish consensus among team and stakeholdersCapable of identifying key issues and patterns in moderately complex situations and spotting new, less obvious solutionsWork Conditions:Travel with full time project location to be determined in Western Canada Project specificSite based role, rotational shift will be assigned (if rotation and shifts are not known)Ability to work evenings, holidays, weekends, and travel away from home will be requiredAdditional InformationThe Ledcor Group of Companies is one of North America’s most diversified construction companies.
