You will contribute to projects that define communities—hospitals, rapid transit programs, vibration-sensitive facilities, and national defense infrastructure projects. You will have opportunities for specialization, leadership growth, and direct involvement in shaping Stantec’s acoustic methodologies, tools, and practice direction.Your Key ResponsibilitiesTechnical Delivery & Acoustics Expertise:Perform architectural acoustics and vibration design, including noise and vibration control for M&E systemsConduct modeling, analysis, data processing, and interpretation across a range of acoustic applicationsDevelop clear recommendations and design inputs through reports, sketches, and presentationsOversee field reviews, shop drawing evaluations, and construction-phase guidanceLead site visits, surveys, and technical documentationEnsure accuracy, quality, and consistency across all deliverablesProject Management & Delivery Excellence:Lead acoustic projects from initiation to completion, managing scope, schedule, and budgetIntegrate acoustic design within multidisciplinary project environmentsLead or support proposal development and pursuit strategiesManage project financial performance and resource planningMaintain accountability to project milestones and deliverablesClient Engagement & Communication:Build and maintain strong client relationships through responsive and professional communicationLead presentations, workshops, and technical discussions with clients and design teamsTranslate complex technical concepts into clear, actionable recommendationsSupport Stantec’s reputation for excellence through high-quality service deliveryLeadership, Mentorship & Team Development:Mentor junior and intermediate staff, supporting their technical and professional developmentProvide technical direction on complex assignments and support team coordinationContribute to training, knowledge sharing, and team standardizationStrengthen our collaborative and inclusive NVA culture across Canadian officesYour Capabilities and CredentialsStrong foundation in architectural acoustics, HVAC noise control, and vibration isolationExperience with room acoustics and building simulation tools such as Odeon, EASE, INSUL, or equivalentExperience with P3, IPD, or progressive design-build project delivery methods is considered an assetKnowledge of standards, including National Building Code, CSA Z317.2, ASHRAE Guidelines, FGI Guidelines, and relevant ISO/ASTM standardsProven ability to mentor staff and support team developmentStrong communication skills with strengths in client engagement, presentations, and negotiationOrganized, creative, and capable of managing multiple assignmentsProficient with Microsoft Office, CAD software, and relevant acoustics toolsValid driver’s license and ability to support occasional planned fieldwork and travelEducation and ExperienceGraduate of an accredited university or college with an engineering, science, or technical degree in a related disciplineMinimum 8 years of consulting experience in architectural acoustics and/or mechanical noise controlProfessional Engineer (P.Eng.) registration or eligibility with the Professional Engineers of Ontario or another Canadian province is an asset; candidates with alternative technical backgrounds (e.g., physics, architecture) are also encouraged to applyTypical office environment working with computers and remaining sedentary for long periods of time.   • Locations in Lower Mainland -- BC, GTA & Ottawa Ontario-$114,600.00 - $164,600.00 Annually
Pay Transparency: In compliance with pay transparency laws, pay ranges are provided for positions in locations where required. Please note, the final agreed upon compensation is based on individual education, qualifications, experience, and work location. At Stantec certain roles are bonus eligible.
