
Senior Supplier Relations Specialist

- Create, communicate, and align contract provisions with legal requirements and policies; edit and draft Service Level Agreements (SLAs) and contracts.
- Ensure contracts achieve acceptable risk levels and suggest improvements where necessary;
- Coordinate and summarize competitive analysis, spend analysis, KPIs, and operating reports.
- Manage and analyze high-tier suppliers' delivery of service levels, cross-referencing with contracts.
- Assist in second-level service provider escalations to the SRM team.
- Participate in service provider audits and reports.
- Support team projects related to suppliers and contracts.
- Consult on issues impacting the efficiency and effectiveness of supplier relationship management and cross-functional processes.
- Ensure standard practices are followed and collaborate on supplier management best practices.
- Implement Lean and Six Sigma methodologies to drive continuous improvement.
- Act as a liaison between Sun Life business units and suppliers; engage with Third Party Risk Management, IT Security, Legal, Operation Risk etc.
- 5+ years of related experience in supplier relationship management and exposure to Financial Industry Third Party Risk management activities
- Demonstrated contract, relationship management, contracting analysis and negotiation skills.
- Experience with projects and business analysis.
- Industry knowledge of best practices for sourcing and contracting.
- Excellent reporting, analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent planning, coordination, and organizational skills.
- Excellent communication skills (verbal and written), with strong MS Office and Excel skills.
- Accounting/Business/financial/data analysis experience.
- Familiarity with insurance business practices and processes (OSFI - B10 regulations).
- Exposure to Lean and Six Sigma methodology.
- Experience with identifying and analyzing Key Performance Indicators (KPIs).
- As a condition of the role, the successful candidate must obtain a Government of Canada Reliability Status security clearance through Sun Life.
