Reporting to the Senior Director of the Distribution Center, the Director is responsible for planning, coordinating, and optimizing the daily operations of their area. The incumbent ensures optimal productivity, promotes a safe and positive work environment, and upholds company standards and values.Main Responsibilities:Production Monitoring:
  • Analyze departmental operations, set priorities, and allocate human resources efficiently.
  • Monitor and optimize operational performance (KPIs), adjusting strategies as needed.
  • Review and interpret production reports to identify variances and implement corrective actions.
  • Manage project and resource costs while ensuring adherence to allocated budgets.
Production Management:
  • Standardize processes and work methods across both shifts.
  • Clearly communicate performance objectives to the management team.
  • Oversee inspection rounds and ensure compliance with health and safety (H&S) standards.
  • Optimize the use of material resources.
  • Ensure the accuracy and quality of pallet assembly.
  • Anticipate challenges related to seasonality and adjust resources accordingly.
Continuous Improvement:
  • Identify and recommend improvements related to the work environment and equipment.
  • Lead continuous improvement projects within the department.
  • Collaborate with other managers and support services to ensure the success of cross-functional projects.
  • Develop a strategic performance improvement plan (productivity, H&S, quality, work climate).
Team Management:
  • Lead and support a team of supervisors and team leads.
  • Approve time sheets in the system.
  • Manage workforce planning (recruitment, absences, evaluations) in partnership with HR.
  • Develop training and skills development plans.
  • Identify internal talent and build a succession plan to ensure operational continuity.
  • Act as interim Senior Director when needed.
Skills and qualifications :
  • Education: Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Operations Management, Supply Chain, or any relevant combination of education and experience.
