Bonus points if you love restaurants too.What You'll Work OnYou will be a Senior Software Engineer working on the frontend on the Availability Planning and Experiences team. The Availability Planning system is the engine that powers our OpenTable for Restaurants product . It is where a Restaurant goes to define their schedule and shifts, as well as the placement of their tables; and it has a complex array of settings to control how those tables are utilized by their diners. As we keep adding more controls, we are always thinking about how we can ensure these controls interact with each other in sensible ways, and how we can give Restaurants precise control and power without making it too complex for them to use. We also enable Restaurants to create their own Experiences, providing an increasing number of ways in which Restaurants can define interesting and unique events for their customers to attend.Our codebase uses JavaScript and TypeScript with the React and Redux frameworks. We make extensive use of testing using the React Testing library, Jest, and Cypress.RequirementsYou have 5 or more years of full-time professional experience working in a team environmentYou have strong communication skills, especially the ability to represent the technical trade-offs between different potential solutionsYou can drive projects from technical planning all the way to productionYou write code that is readable and maintainableYou are proficient in JavaScript, Node.js, and React. (Knowledge of TypeScript is a bonus.)You carefully test your work for bugs while ensuring consistency with requirements and designs. You also build automated tests and understand how to use them properly.You have experience implementing designs and collaborating with designers using tools like FigmaYou invest in the architecture of the code you are writing.
