
Rope Access Level 2 & 3 Wind Technicians

- Inspect and ensure repairs on wind turbine blades are completed to company standards.
- Work as a member of the team with a safety-first approach and document repair and inspection findings.
- Establish techniques for proper examination of objects under inspection, ensuring strict adherence to safety regulations.
- Apply testing criteria in accordance with applicable specifications or standards and evaluate results.
- Work at heights of more than 300 feet via rope access or suspended platform, in confined spaces and for extended periods of time in remote locations in variable climates and environments.
- Flexibility to work overtime and rotating shifts as required.
- Have a comprehensive knowledge of advanced rescue techniques.
- Be able to demonstrate all the skills and knowledge required of Rope Access Technicians.
- Ensure operational safety of all equipment.
- May instruct and supervise others.
- Perform other job-related tasks as assigned by operations.
- Certifications: IRATA certification is considered an asset. GWO certification is preferred, or a willingness to obtain it.
- Experience: 0–1 year of experience in the wind industry. Experience with various turbine platforms and blade types is an asset.
- Education: High school diploma required. Technical Wind Certification preferred but not required.
- Licensing & Trainings: Valid driver’s license and clean driver's abstract required.
- Work Environment & Availability:
- Must be willing to travel and work in remote locations across Canada for extended periods.
- Flexible to work overtime and rotating shifts as needed.
- Comfortable working in adverse weather and physically demanding conditions.
- Physical Requirements:
- Ability to safely climb up to 100m (330 ft) multiple times per day while carrying up to 15kg (30 lbs).
- Capable of lifting up to 25kg (50 lbs) unassisted; occasionally up to 35kg (75 lbs).
- Must have full range of motion for tasks involving bending, kneeling, climbing, and squatting.
- Dexterity and coordination for handling tools and working on complex components.
- Comfortable working at heights, on slippery terrain, and in confined spaces.
- Other Requirements:
- Must pass drug and alcohol testing.
- Ability to comply with company and client-specific policies and procedures.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills in English.
- Ability to work effectively in a diverse team environment.
- Position Type: Full-time, Permanent
- Rotation: 6 weeks on / 1 week off
- Start Date: As soon as possible
- Location & Travel: Fly-In Fly-Out (FIFO) provided to various sites across Canada; 100% travel required.
- Environment: Work is performed in remote locations and exposed outdoor environments, often in challenging weather conditions.
- Schedule Flexibility: Candidates must be adaptable to a rotational schedule, extended shifts, overtime, and weekend work as needed.
