The OpportunityThe Business & Community Liaison develops and implements a Stakeholder Engagement Plan to enhance newcomer attraction and retention in rural and remote communities across British Columbia and Yukon (BCY). This role focuses on building strategic relationships with employers and community partners, promoting local resources and labor market insights, and coordinating services to support newcomers in adapting and thriving in these regions.RESPONSIBILITIES:Community Liaison
- Build and maintain strategic relationships with agencies, businesses, employers, and stakeholders in rural BC and Yukon.
- Develop and execute engagement plans, including coordinating events and promoting the program at employment-related activities.
- Conduct employer needs assessments to identify opportunities and gaps, staying informed about labor market updates.
- Collaborate with researchers, staff, and stakeholders to enhance project effectiveness and participate in PAC advisory committee meetings.
- Maintain a comprehensive database of community and employer contacts, employment opportunities, and client records in PMIS.
- Collaborate with the Training Group's Marketing team to create promotional materials and increase program visibility.
- Recruit and connect with employers to create job opportunities for newcomers and support local workforce development.
- Enhance the program's social media presence and track engagement activities to evaluate outreach effectiveness.
- Build employer relationships to create job opportunities and conduct client needs assessments to evaluate eligibility and job readiness.
- Facilitate workshops, informational sessions, and cohort-based training on skills development and labor market information (LMI).
- Coordinate employer-partnered activities, including guest speaker events, mock interviews, and hiring fairs.
- Support participants in accessing work experiences, job shadowing, and direct placements, while maintaining updated LMI for each region.
- Assist employers with onboarding and tailored training programs, monitor participant progress, and maintain detailed records of activities.
- Facilitate online class sessions as needed and foster a collaborative work environment.
- Participate in the Training Group's Quality Management System (ISO9001:2015) to ensure quality standards.

WHAT IT TAKESTO BE SUCCESSFUL IN THIS ROLE:
- Bachelor's Degree or equivalent education and experience in marketing or related fields.
- Proven experience building partnerships with employers and stakeholders, with knowledge of newcomer needs and settlement services.
- Strong communication, interpersonal, and problem-solving skills.
- Flexibility to work evenings, weekends, and travel across BC and Yukon as required.
- Valid driver's license, reliable vehicle, and proficiency in MS Office, Adobe Suite, and online meeting tools.
