- Maintain health and safety documentation, files, and records.
- Enter incident and near-miss data into tracking systems, ensuring accuracy and completeness.
- Assist with revising templates, reviewing legislative changes, and supporting policy compliance.
- Prepare inspection checklists and assist with inspections as needed.
- Log hazard reports and follow-up notes in applicable databases.
- Inventory first aid kits, identify supply needs, and coordinate replenishments.
- Draft safety content, including bulletins, posters, and educational materials.
- Assist with seasonal safety campaigns, such as heat safety, severe weather, and cold-stress awareness.
- Review and update emergency evacuation maps, muster point diagrams, and signage.
- Support general administrative functions such as data entry, document formatting, and communication distribution.
- Collaborate with team members to ensure accuracy, efficiency, and compliance.
- Perform additional duties as assigned to support Facilities & Park Operations.
- Accurate and up-to-date health and safety records and documentation.
- Timely entry of incident, inspection, and hazard data.
- Clear and engaging safety communications and campaign materials.
- Organized and prepared safety supplies, kits, and emergency resources.
- Currently enrolled in a post-secondary program (Occupational Health & Safety, Environmental Health, Human Resources, Business Administration, or related field preferred).
- Basic understanding of workplace health and safety principles (WHMIS, hazard identification, inspections, etc.) is an asset.
- Strong computer skills, including Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
- Previous administrative or safety-related experience (workplace, volunteer, or coursework) is an asset.
- Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information.
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to accuracy.
- Ability to adapt to flexible hours, including evenings and weekends.
- Eligibility for the Canada Summer Jobs Program.
- Competitive compensation of $18.00/hr.
