- Project: Problem Loan Management (PLM) – The PLM (Problem Loan Management) project is a strategic initiative to replace legacy systems for credit loss and default calculations, aiming to standardise data, automate workflows, and enhance reporting for regulatory compliance and operational efficiency. It focuses on scalability, bilingual support, and improved user experience through streamlined processes.
- This is a marquee initiative with executive attention (on Tim Clark’s radar). The project team consists of approximately 15 members, including: 3–4 Business Analysts, 2 Testers, 1 UX Designer, 7–8 Developers
- The program is currently in the execution phase, and additional contract testing leadership is required to support delivery.
- Lead and participate in daily stand‑ups to review progress, priorities, risks, and dependencies
- Review business and technical requirements to ensure test coverage and alignment with project objectives
- Design, write, review, and execute UAT test plans, test cases, scripts, and testing strategies, with a strong focus on risk mitigation
- Coordinate and supervise all UAT testing activities for projects and releases in a shared testing environment
- Assess UAT readiness and evaluate the risk of releasing code into the test environment, including potential impacts across multiple projects and overlapping applications within tight timelines
- Perform hands‑on manual testing (automation planned for later phases), including testing in Spanish
- Track testing activities, defects, and resolutions using JIRA; manage defect backlogs and lead defect review discussions
- Collaborate closely with development teams to troubleshoot issues, resolve defects, and validate fixes; escalate risks and blockers to management when required
- Schedule, approve, and coordinate code releases into the UAT environment, working with internal teams and external service providers
- Continuously re‑prioritize work in response to changing delivery timelines, scope, and business direction
- Participate in application demos and walkthroughs; produce testing documentation and capture supporting evidence such as screenshots
- Provide recommendations on release readiness and production deployment
- Mentor and support junior UAT analysts by transferring application and process knowledge; provide hands‑on training on systems, environments, standards, and testing methodologies
- Coach team members on collaboration, conflict resolution, and achievement of project and departmental objectives
- Partner with project teams throughout the SDLC to ensure business and technical requirements are fully met
- Maintain a strong understanding of banking applications, UAT configurations, system integrations, and code delivery processes
- Provide technical guidance to development teams and external vendors on application integration within the UAT environment
- Forecast testing effort and resource needs based on project documentation; monitor capacity and proactively escalate resource constraints or conflicts

- 3+ years of experience as a QA / QC Test Lead, with demonstrated experience writing test cases, test plans and creating testing strategies
- Experience with JIRA
- Experience with Excel
- Experience writing complex SQL queries for data validation
- Experience with security testing
- Experience with load testing, non-functional testing
- Knowledge of accounting principles
- Bilingual in Spanish or hands‑on experience testing Spanish applications
- Experience with data migration testing
- Good communication skills
- Team player, collaborative

- Ability to manage ambiguity in a fast-paced environment
- Able to work independent with minimal hand holding
- Strong stakeholder management skills
- Post-secondary in relevant technical field
- ISTQB/Tester certification are an asset
- Be highly organized, particularly in managing defect backlogs
- Confidently lead testing meetings and stakeholder discussions
- Operate independently and “hit the ground running”
- Quickly understand complex requirements and technical solutions
- Provide strong technical guidance to the broader team
- 1-2 rounds Technical Panel Interviews – MS Teams and in Person – with HM and team members – 45 minutes
