- Demonstrate high proficiency in mapping tools to effectively represent geologic cases.
- Support the well operations team in evaluating new well opportunities.
- Prepare new well/cavern opportunity mapping and presentations.
- Build and interpret well-log cross-sections.
- Prepare geological disposal case for regulatory submissions.
- Support well drilling programs.
- Generate scope and estimates for all geology related expertise or equipment required to advance geologic analyses.
- Determine requirement for and oversee additional geophysical or petrophysical support.
- Contribute to well completions to bring on new wells/zones, including; assessment of caprock for zonal isolation, formation top selection, logging, coring and lab work;
- Source and supervise required geological expertise to support drilling operations.
- Design and analyze well tests to confirm reservoir characteristics.
- Liaise with CoreLab for core viewing.
- Define potential for new wells or caverns through demonstrated geological expertise.
- Contribute to troubleshooting well performance issues.
- Evaluate potential for well recompletions;
- Provide geological basis for regulatory applications and associated information requests.
- Support geological evaluation of acquisition or divestment candidates.
- Support troubleshooting and correction of operational issues with mapping software and associated tools.
- Provide mapping services to corporate groups as required.
- Geologist with a minimum of a B.Sc. in Geology (or equivalent).
- 5-10 years of related experience for a Geologist (including: wells/caverns; drilling/completions and workovers)
- APEGA membership
- Highly functional in mapping tools such as GeoScout to generate comprehensive mappings.
- Log Analysis, DST Interpretation and Core analyses interpretation.
- Solid understanding of government submissions for the provincial regulatory agencies.
- Sample and Core Descriptions.
- Field experience as a site geologist and/or an Oil and Gas Producer would be an asset.
- Advanced computer skills – Word, PowerPoint and Excel.
- Ability to travel to field locations occasionally.
- Strong communication skills (both written and verbal)
- Ability to multi-task
- Work effectively independently and in a team environment.
