- Consult on overall system architectures and system enhancements from a security perspective.
- Derive security requirements, designs, solutions, and mechanisms in response to customer requirements and standards.
- Develop and maintain security-related system artifacts such as specifications, profiles, and vulnerability assessments.
- Oversee the verification of security aspects of products and systems.
- Perform threat assessments and advise on actions to mitigate risks.
- Review vulnerability and compliance scanning results and develop remediation actions.
- Support engineering program delivery through the development of security plans and budgets.
- Coach and mentor junior team members.
- A degree or diploma in Engineering, Computer Science, Information Technology, or relevant Systems Security experience.
- Certified Information Systems Security Professional (CISSP) certification.
- Five or more years of experience in an engineering or information systems environment.
- Understanding of DND project delivery and execution processes.
- Experience in maintaining close working relationships with engineers and customer representatives.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Exceptional leadership and problem-solving abilities.
- Experience in accreditation of classified systems for DND.
- Knowledge of NIST SP-800 suite, ISO/IEC standards, and SANS standards.
- Experience designing and working in Security Operation Centres.
- Hands-on experience with Microsoft Enterprise network suite, SIEMs, and vulnerability assessment tools.
- Familiarity with Business Continuity Plans, Open Source Security Testing, and OWASP References.
- Preferred certifications such as Certified Cloud Security Professional (CCSP).
