Transport Canada Fourth-Class Engineer License (Unlimited)
STCW Basic Safety, Proficiency in Survival Craft, and Advanced Fire Fighting
H2S Alive
Vessel Personnel with Security Responsibilities
Transport Canada Marine Medical
Marine First Aid with 3 years validity and CPR
WHMIS
Good verbal and written communication skills in English
Ability to work in a high-energy and demanding environment
Must pass Physical, Drug Screen and Background/Pre-Employment Screening Checks

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

Keep a safe and efficient engine room watch, monitor machinery performance in compliance with applicable regulations, the Chief Engineer’s standing orders, and company policies and procedures, and maintain the engine room logbook.
Carry out relevant planned maintenance tasks in line with the vessel’s program, as directed by the Chief Engineer.
Supervise the Oilers assigned to their watch, ensuring that cleaning station tasks are properly carried out.
Execute safety procedures as assigned by the Chief Engineer.
Keep a record of spare parts used and report this information to the Chief Engineer.

Ensure that areas and equipment are kept clean and that proactive measures are taken to ensure all operations comply with regulatory requirements and company policies.
Be familiar with and adhere to safety procedures and the various processes within the safety management system.
Possess a comprehensive understanding of pollution regulations and the company’s environmental protection objectives.
Other duties as required
